The Bridge of the Americas is a free (no toll) crossing into Ciudad Juarez. Traffic is heavy but usually moves quickly heading south. Use the Nada que Declarar lane to skip the declaration line, and fill up on gas before the border zone. Wait times can exceed an hour and the signage and traffic flow are confusing. For a calmer crossing into Chihuahua, consider Santa Teresa or Ysleta-Zaragoza.

Step by step, southbound
From El Paso, take I-110 or Loop 375 south to the Bridge of the Americas Port of Entry and choose one of the four passenger-vehicle lanes.
Cross the bridge into Ciudad Juárez; the road connects to Avenida Lincoln via Mexico Highway 45. Watch for the semáforo inspection light.
If you need a vehicle import permit (TIP) or tourist card and it isn't available right at the bridge, follow signage toward the Banjercito office referenced near Km 30 on the Mexican side.
Continue south on Mexico Highway 45 toward Chihuahua City or your destination once documentation is complete.
