Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

NoStressBorders.com (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you use our service:

  • Name and email address
  • Vehicle information (make, model, year, type, ownership, plate, VIN)
  • Border crossing details and travel answers from the questionnaire
  • Profile information you choose to add: date of birth, sex, nationality, country of birth, passport country, passport issue date, and passport expiry date
  • Messages you send to our in-checklist AI support chat
  • Photos and feedback you submit through our post-crossing follow-up questionnaire
  • If you contribute to our photo-mapping (“bounty”) program: your name, email address, the photo you upload, the map location you mark, and your confirmation that you took the photo and own the rights to it
  • Your email address if you ask to be notified when a crossing that isn’t live yet becomes available

We do not store your passport number. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe β€” we never see or store your card information.

We also collect standard technical data automatically: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, used for security and improving the service. Where you have consented (see Cookies and analytics below), we and our analytics providers also collect usage data such as clicks, scrolling, and page interactions.

How we use your information

  • To generate your personalized border crossing checklist
  • To pre-fill guidance forms (such as the FMM tourist permit guide) based on your answers
  • To send you crossing-related reminders and updates you’ve purchased
  • To process payments and issue refunds when applicable
  • To send transactional emails (purchase confirmation, password setup, passport expiry reminders)
  • To improve the accuracy and quality of our service
  • To provide and improve our in-checklist AI support chat
  • To review and, where approved, publish photos and feedback you submit about your crossing
  • To review and, where approved, publish and use the photos and locations you contribute to our photo-mapping program β€” including on our port pages and in our marketing β€” and to issue your reward
  • To send photo-mapping contributors occasional project updates and marketing (new crossings and travel tips); you can opt out at any time
  • To email you when a crossing you asked about becomes available
  • To understand how the site is used, through analytics and session-insight tools, where you have consented

Affiliate and referral tracking

If you visit our site via a referral link, we set a cookie (nsb_aff_ref) that persists for 30 days. This tracks whether a sale should be credited to a referring affiliate or customer. No personal information is stored in this cookie β€” only the referral code.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

  • Stripe β€” payment processing
  • Resend β€” transactional email delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) β€” powers our in-checklist support chat. When you send a message, your question and a short summary of your trip are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
  • Google β€” website analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager), where you have consented
  • Microsoft β€” website analytics and session insights (Microsoft Clarity), where you have consented
  • Service providers who help us operate the website, under confidentiality obligations

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile information from your account settings. To request full deletion of your account and data, email us at support@nostressborders.com and we will action it within 30 days.

GDPR β€” rights for EEA residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access β€” request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification β€” request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure β€” request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Right to restrict processing β€” request that we limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved
  • Right to data portability β€” receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object β€” object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to lodge a complaint β€” contact your local data protection supervisory authority

To exercise any of these rights, email support@nostressborders.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Legal basis for processing. We process your data on the following grounds: performance of a contract (generating and delivering your checklist); your consent (where you have opted in to communications); and legitimate interests (securing our service and preventing fraud).

International data transfers

NoStressBorders is operated from the United States. If you are located in the EEA, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the US. We use third-party processors that provide appropriate safeguards under GDPR:

  • Stripe β€” payment processing. Uses Standard Contractual Clauses for EU-US transfers (see Stripe’s Privacy Policy).
  • Resend β€” transactional email. Uses Standard Contractual Clauses for EU-US transfers (see Resend’s Privacy Policy).
  • Anthropic β€” AI support chat. US-based; processes your chat messages to generate replies and does not use API data for model training (see Anthropic’s Privacy Policy).
  • Google β€” website analytics. US-based; provides safeguards for EU-US transfers (see Google’s Privacy Policy).
  • Microsoft β€” website analytics and session insights. US-based; provides safeguards for EU-US transfers (see Microsoft’s Privacy Statement).

By using our service, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Cookies and analytics

We use two kinds of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies β€” required for login sessions, security, and referral tracking (nsb_aff_ref). These are always active.
  • Analytics and session insight β€” Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Microsoft Clarity also records anonymized session interactions such as mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling, and builds aggregated heatmaps; text you type into form fields is masked by default.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, analytics and session-insight tools are disabled by default and load only after you accept them through our cookie banner. You can accept or decline at any time, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your data.

Children’s privacy

Our service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
