Step by step, southbound
From Laredo, TX, drive north to the Colombia Solidarity Bridge crossing (well outside downtown Laredo) and pay the southbound toll.
Cross the bridge into Colombia, Nuevo León, and stop at the Banjercito module before the toll booths if you need a vehicle permit.
Proceed to the Mexican customs (Aduana) checkpoint and follow the semáforo light for possible inspection.
If continuing beyond the border zone, stop at the immigration office for your FMM tourist permit before continuing toward Monterrey via Highway 2 or 85.
