Step by step, southbound
Approach the Lukeville, AZ Port of Entry via AZ-85 southbound — a small, remote desert crossing with minimal wait.
Cross into Sonoyta through the aduana checkpoint at the border.
If you need an FMM, process it at the INM/migration office right at the crossing.
This crossing has no Banjercito — if you need a vehicle Temporary Import Permit (TIP), continue about 28 km (17 miles) southeast on Mexico Federal Highway 2 toward Caborca to the Banjercito office at Garita San Emeterio.
If continuing to Puerto Peñasco or Mexico's interior, head south from Sonoyta on Highway 8 or Highway 2.
